Day 2 Sleep Training - Fail

Last night sucked!

Kaia fell asleep a little after 8.  The smart me knew I should probably wake her up.  The idiot me said let's roll with it.  So, roll with it we did.

Kaia was back up again by 10.

And up, and up, and up.

There was singing.  There was staring at the illuminated mobile.  There was more singing.  There was cuddling.  And some more singing.  But there was definitely no sleeping again until well after midnight.  And then she woke up for good just after 7.  Awesome!

Idiot me may make a reappearance, or many, I don't doubt that.  But, she will not make that mistake again!

Here's to hoping we all get some good sleep tonight!

How old is she? I don't really remember what I did but I am pretty sure I did the semi-cry it out method. Meaning, if little man cried for longer than 15 minutes I would go get him. the next time i would wait 10 minutes and the next time 5. By the third night his cries were only lasting 5 minutes and I never had to go in there! Good Luck!

Good Luck Khara! It will get better. I couldn't do the cry it out with my son either. Not to say I didn't try...it was beyond painful.

Things will work out eventually. Get some shut eye when you can:)

You are doing a great job. Sleep training is hard but she will eventually learn!

Awww... it's so hard with babies. I never wanted to wake Justine up if she was napping!

It was worth a shot and I hope tonight is much, much better!

The hardest part of sleep training is listening to the crying and knowing that you should not going in...but knowing that you must.

I agree with Kitchen Belle's comment...doing it in increments really helps things along. I totally recommend it! And hang in there - it wasn't easy for anyone in this house either!!

You can do it. It is challenging, especially when those cute and adorable ones of our look at us and smile. You'll make it through and you'll be grateful.

Keep your head up, lady!

From everything I've read on the internet, sleep training is REALLY hard.

how long do you plan on co-sleeping??? i guess my thoughts are if you ever want them to sleep by themselves, it'll be a tough habit to break.

but it sounds like you're doing good now. in my opinion, this is a great age to start sleep training. not too young to cry a little either. for me, it really helped to go in another room so i couldn't hear. have you tried to let her go for 15 minutes??

keep it up. it will get better. BE CONSISTANT and give it time. i let my kids cry some. if it turned histerical, i would go get them, but 99% of the time they were asleep in less than 10 minutes.

keep it up!!!!
