Resolution Ideas

The New Year is fast approaching.  I haven't, generally, made resolutions as an adult - not to say I didn't set goals for myself, they just weren't tied to the holiday.  But, this year I think it would be a good start to my year.  I could use the focus.  I am, after all, a list kind of girl.  So, here's what I am thinking so far:

1.  Achieve at least a 3.0 average in my classes this semester
2.  Follow a marathon/half marathon training plan (and not try to do more mileage)
3.  Run a marathon
4.  Throw Kaia an amazing 1st Birthday party - hopefully, be good enough to make her cupcakes myself!
5.  Get Kaia, and myself, on more of a schedule
6.  Get my personal trainer's certification

But I want some more good goals.  They can be short term or longer term.  Any ideas?  What do you think I should add?

What are your goals/resolutions for 2011?

Those sound like great goals. Come run a marathon with me! Then? You can make us cupcakes after! (Dude, I'll be on the couch.)

Khara, you have an ambitious list! I don't usually make New Year's resolutions but I may switch it up and make a list this year...

I'm not big on resolutions, but i do want to exercise at least 2 times a week. Also, I have hopes for next year. Maybe that's better to say than resolutions.

I think these are good goals- and probably best to keep to a shorter list! Get these things done and then look for more. :)

Wonderful resolutions! I made some for the first time last year and actually wrote them down on my blog and for the first time I achieved all of them! I was shocked. Maybe "The Secret" isn't all hocus pocus after all??

that sounds like a really well-rounded list. if i achieved even two of those, i would be so proud of myself. how about "remember to be kind to myself."

love ya!

My goal is to live more in the moment. I'm terrible at that.

Good luck training for the marathon!

Those are fantastic resolutions! Training for and running a marathon is very rewarding. I've run a few and hope to do one again I just don't know where I would find the time as a mom! My resolution is to a join a gym. I'm not pulling a "I'm so fat" but my clothes literally do not fit and I need to do something about it before I can even think of having another baby. Best of luck with your goals and Happy New Year!!

We have a couple of the same goals! I'm looking to run a half marathon and get my PT certification this year too. Maybe we can keep each other accountable! :)

Thank you all for your comments. Sounds like you ladies have some awesome goals planned for 2011.

Ameena, I think you're right there just might be a secret to writing them down.

Andrea, I'm down for holding each other accountable!

I really like your goals/ resolutions. I made a few myself, we'll see if I keep them (hoping to at least do the "visit Paris" one, we'll see!). I like your blog.
