School Girl

I found out the other day, I am no longer on the wait list for school!  I will be starting on my journey to become a nurse in January.  I am very excited about it.  This is something I've wanted to do now for quite awhile.  I was not sure that everything was going to come together.  It was such a long wait and so many steps to get to where I am now.  I was thrilled.

Yet, there was a moment.  A very distinct moment, after I hung up the phone, and when I went to pick up Kaia, that I nearly broke down.  The tears welled up and threatened to pour out.  I will miss my sweet baby so dearly while I am in class and at the hospital doing my clinicals.  I know that it will be good for both of us in the long run.  But, she is my sweet angel.  She is, like I said, my little bestie.  Please pray for us and keep your fingers crossed that I find childcare that I feel comfortable and confident leaving her in while I pursue this dream.

I totally relate! I had grand plans of going back to work..now I can't even imagine leaving him with the sitter. Still, school is awesome, congrats!

Congratulations on your long wait being over! I'm so excited for you. I felt the same way when I left Maya at 6 months to go back to work but honestly it was the best decision ever. You'll feel the same way too!! I promise.

I am just back to work myself and I must say it was easier than I thought. It does help when you want to be where your going, ie school in your case... not some job you hate. To be fair and honest, though, I did cry my eyes out all the way to work the first day. ;)
And congrats on getting accepted! Good for you for going for this dream!

Thanks Mamabear! I hope we both end up with the perfect sitter, better even than Mary Poppins as you say :)

Ameena! Look at your fancy new blog design! I love it! And thank you for the words of encouragement, it always helps to hear someone has gone through the same thing and has been really happy with her decision.

Marisa, I'm sure I'll be crying that first day too! Ah, not looking forward to that part, though I know you're right and it will get easier!

Anastasia, Thank You!

That is SO awesome! I have a BS and took all of my other prereqs for nursing school, but didn't get in this year because they want hands on experience (i.e. CNA or something). That is so great....it will be hard with your baby but it will be worth it in the end to have a good career that can be somewhat part time if you wanted it to be :)

That's so awesome!! It will be hard to be away from your sweet girl, but it's such an accomplishment and so important to have schooling under your belt!!

Congrats! We can moan and groan together! I have four children and am a 3rd year nursing student working towards my Bachelor of Nursing, RN.
I am so excited for you and can't wait to read the stories of your experiences.

I am so, so happy for you! That is absolutely wonderful.

Yes, it'll be hard but you'll be so proud of yourself and so will Kaia and your husband for embarking on this new adventure.

You go, girl!
