Schedules

So, I've come to determine that I function best on a schedule.  In fact, the crazier, the better.  Don't get me wrong, when I'm in the middle of the crazy schedule I wonder what in the world I'm thinking and wishing for nothing more than a long vacatio on a sandy beach, still, genearlly, I am more uncomfortable with down time.

The past semester was definitely crazy.  I was up early every morning for a long day of classes and/or clinicals.  I came home to Mommy Kaia alone while Todd was deployed and we were up late most nights.  But, I knew what I was doing, or at least what I should be doing, every minute of everyday.   I even had to stop blogging (writing and reading) because there was simply no time.

Now, the freedom will be my undoing.  I have the summer off.  At least for now, I'm not even doing a part-time job (other than being a Mommy and wife of course :)  The result?  I seem to get nothing done in a day.

So, now I am attempting to get the blog going again - at least a few days a week over the summer.  And I am back to studying for my personal trainer's certificate.  My goal is to get certified sooner rather than later and (cross fingers) hopefully, get hired on somewhere (please let it be my gym!) a few hours a week.

Wish this feeling lazy mommy luck.

What are your thoughts on schedules?

Hope you all are off to a wonderful start to the week!

I'm glad you are able to fit blogging into your schedule! I love the adventures with you and Kaia! I dont think I ever told you I loved her name! Schedules and me work well together most at work; at home I could probably use a schedule but then I would feel too confined! Way to go on the personal training certificate! I so need to work out long enough to qualify for that:-)

I absolutely need a schedule if I'm going to get anything done. When I look at the day planner and it's just empty, i think my mind literally goes blank too and I sit in front of the tx, not doing anything!!

Welcome back!! I totally agree! Since I've been on maternity leave I find that I am less motivated to do things! What's up with that!? Even though it's maternity leave and I'm getting used to a baby I still have time during the day (while he naps) to do stuff and I don't! HA!

I love schedules!
I thrive on schedules!
If I don't have things planned I will walk around like I'm lost wondering what I should be doing. I love when my schedule is jammed packed I seem to get so much more done, given the freedom to choose I sometimes get a little lazy feeling and I hate it.

I definitely function best when I have a to-do list/schedule, you know? It just keeps me moving forward and focused. Plus, checking things off of lists gives you a tangible symbol of your day's accomplishments.

Good luck on your certification, lady! You can definitely do it!

HA!! I finally found someone like me. I function better with a schedule. I don't think I even know how to relax. I work full time, I don't get home until 7PM and when I get here I have to deal with the munchkin and husband and by the end of the day I'm so tired that I don't know what to do with my self. and then if I happen to have a day off its like the day passes by and I get nothing done.

I feel your pain :)

I love schedules! I got issues I know

Missed you so much and I'm glad that you're back! Yay! I totally understand where you are coming from -- I totally work better with a schedule, whether it was during the semester or during a break, I needed a schedule in order to get things done and remain organized.

I am the same way. I have to have a schedule, even if it is go to the store in the morning and park in the afternoon, I at least have to know what I am going to do that day. So different from my hubby though. He is a fly by the seat of your pants kinda man! LOL!

It's so good to see you back Khara!

I know what you mean about not getting anything done when you don't really HAVE to do anything. I am terrible on the weekends with this!

I would absolutely relish the idea of having a summer without a schedule. That sounds like heaven to me!

So glad you're around for a while, even if just for the summer!

You are so right! I am a schedule gal too so during the summer I am a complete mess! By August I am craving the schedule of school again. You would think by now I would learn to just keep scheduling! :)

Happy to see more blogging. I like to call it a routine. My routine consists of yoga, drinking tea and soda and watching a lot of netflicks streaming. It works for me and the baby.

I say give yourself a few weeks to decompress and then make a plan. When I taught, the first few weeks of vacation were always WAY less than productive!

Yay! Welcome back and congrats on completing your year of school.

I agree with you on working on a schedule. Relaxing is a skill that needs to be learned. And it's not for everyone, especially when you're used to being so very busy like you were all year.

Is your husband back from deployment?

Happy to be reading you again!

I am in desperate need of a schedule! I've been getting a lot done lately, I've just been leaving things out! I think I may have to schedule starting the schedule though. It's been on my to-do list in my head. :)
